1. What the first song that makes you interesting in learning bass?

None. One day a mate of mine who was a drummer suggested we went to a rehearsal studio along with a couple of friends of his & bass turned out to be the only vacancy. We hashed together a truly dreadful twelve bar blues & that was that. It kinda stuck.

Jack Bruce, closely followed by Neil Murray.

8. What is your first bass?

Aria Pro II TSB-400 No. 1050066 (May 1981), bought new in May or June 1982 for HK$1200 - which was slightly more than a month's wages. Still got it.

1. What the first song that makes you interesting in learning bass?

I can't remember that for sure. More than one. I'd been aware of bass for years but I know that lines like The Cure's Fascination Street led me to bass around the time my brother was learning guitar. But it wasn't jus tone specific song.

2. What the first song you learn?

That i can remember, Closedown by The cure. It's like four notes.

3. What the first song you can play completely?

Well that would be the same. It never changes all the way through.

4. What song you play when the first time you have perform in public?

Hmm... it was a cure tribute band (see a pattern?) I can't remember the first song we played though. I might have the setlist somewhere in a box. I think...I want to say we started with the early songs so it's possible it was like, Boys don't cry. But I can't be sure.

5. Who is the first bass player you know?

Oh damn.... I can't remember that. Too long ago. We're talking childhood. Maybe as shameful as it is to say, the bassist for EMF? Shut up I was like 11 in 1990. I do still remember his name, Zac Foley. He died of drug overdose some time in the early 2000's.

6. Who is your favourite bass player?

Has to be Simon Gallup. From yes, you guessed it, The Cure. I got others though.

7. who bass player influence your playing style?

Well him. Also all the other ones I like. Simonon, Peter Hook, Andy Rourke, John Taylor. And I hate to admit it but I also learned to play along Green Day records as a teen, and while I don't care for them anymore and haven't in like 15 years, I think for better or worse Mike Dirnt has had a bit of a lasting influence on my style.

8. What is your first bass?

Ibanez Tr-70. About a 300$ bass in 1996 (440$ or so adjusted for inflation, I just checked for fun). Still my only bass 18 years later (well I inherited an '85 Ibanez Roadstar II last year which I sold casue I didn't like the sound or neck feel, and I recently bought an Epiphone EB-3 which I am reselling cause I don't care for it, terrible neck dive, tones I can't use, so technically, still my only bass)
