Well l just joined the site and l believe you should do an intro but couldnt find any where to start one.So l thought l would start here,hope l started in the right place.
Any how as you guys can see l live in Vancouver Canada.
l have a few friends that play and they have bands and lve been around a few professional players.
l just jump in to the hobby and got my feet wet and started playing guitar a few months ago.
Any how as l have been learning to play guitar l decided to take up the bass to.
l just picked up a aluminum neck bass Kramer its a Stagemaster lmperial.
This is my first bass guitar or l guess axe.
lm on a few different forums but there to do with car.So l figured l would look for a forum to communicate with people that have been in this type of thing for a long time.
Now lm here to use a abuse you guys and pick your brains for karnal knowledge.
Hopefully l dont make some dumb mistakes like buy the wrong equipment, (which l have done before ) or pay to much because l dont know any better.So l hope to find out what works and doesnt work, an then be able to find the best deal for my dollar.
As well as make a few friends along the way.
Any how you guys have a great site here and lm looking at learning a few things from you guys.
Also it also seems there is alot of good people around here that will be able to give a newb, some solid advice on the does and dont's on the learning of this fine art of playing a bass, and what to set yourself up with for equipment.
So any how lm a vintage nut l like old things,and that tube Sound.
l dont have a bass rig yet.
So what lm looking into is getting a good tube head and speaker cab.
lve looked at a few amps heads but what l want is an good amp that would give a good full clean sound and have some decent distortion?
The music l like goes from the blues to some good old Metallica or to Red Hot Chili Peppers.
After the amp head l need to pickup a good speaker cab,should l buy new or buy used and hopefully not abused?
So what do you guys think would be a good rig setup? lve come to pick your brains.
lm looking at spending about $1500.00 in total.
Or maybe l could even get a solid state amp, but they dont usually have that warm tube sound that lm looking for.
