Just ordered my first Sandberg! =)

I just finished the order for a new Sandberg California JM4 =)

4 String Jazz
Alder body
Tobacco Burst High-Gloss Finish
Maple Fretboard with pearloid block inlays.
Delano J + MM pickups w/ coil split switch for the humbucker + active passive switch.

Not all left to do is wait.

i love the california line, maple on maple sounds tasty too.

did you order the standard MM pickup or the hybrid one with the MM and J in one case?

I ordered my new one a month ago, a California JM in hardcore aged Surf Green with a maple fingerboard no inlays whatsoever ... Oh and left handed ofcourse.

Mine should be here before Christmas, when is yours due?

I ordered the standard MM because I played one at the local shop and loved it, so I didn't want to change something the works.

I live in Israel so I don't really know where they stand in the Euro market, but here in Israel they are undoubtably the best basses you can get for what they cost. Fender dealers in Israel are complete theives, So when the new 2008 MIA Fenders came out, they were more expensive than the Sandbergs :scowl:

i love the P MM combo, ive used it for years now (about 10 actually), im not sure about the hybrid pickup as i cant stand jazz bass pickups, but im always interested when people mention them.... maybe they can change my mind .

sandbergs in the uk go from around the £1000 to £1500 for the california, im sure the one i nearly bought was £1300 surf green P MM 4 string (if it was a 5 it would have been mine).

its not worth the lottery in buying a fender over here in my opinion, i got my status for what i could have gotten 2 USA standard P's with, and that was made for ME

if i had the cash mind id be torn between a 5 string status and a sandberg cali P5 (just like the one i mentioned B4 but a 5)

My PM5 cost just under 1200€ a year ago. It was made to order (custom wood/colour combination) from Sandberg through the french distributor.
