If you live the way you wrote up there, then there was no need to write these lines. Seems like you are having a problem with other people opinions....

I hate when you can't find a normal pair of jeans. It's either Wranglers which are made of reconstituted cardboard or "designer" jeans with more holes than a heroine addict's arm.

Not to hijack my own thread, but I agree with superfunk47.
It hasn't really happened to me personally that much on forums, but have seen it many times happen to others.

What's wrong with just saying, "It's not MY cup of tea, but if YOU like, more power to ya".
Instead of the name calling.

Maybe it's because I'm a geezer. I've learned to respect other people's opinions, knowing I don't have to agree with them, nor do they have to agree with my opinions.

I'm on the fence myself with the whole relic thing. I can see the attraction, but I've stated many times, I'll relic my own bass,...... with time.

People need a little more gray area in their lives.
And THAT, of course, is just my opinion.

EDITED TO ADD:

Normally, I don't have a problem with someone's opinion, it's how it's delivered that bothers me.

I agree. I just don't get it. I like old guitars and basses, but to me personally it has a lot less to do with the dings and dents - and more to do with the patena of the wood. Those old maple necks take on an almost orange color over the years. That and neck wear and you know you've got something that's got a lot of history in your hands.

I guess Fender will now start staining their maple necks orange.
