as far as staying in tune? My E and A pretty much stay in tune all the time. After a couple of weeks my D and G still go a little flat. This pretty similar to a nylon string uke. Usually takes a couple of week for things to stabilize IMO.

I know both my rigs work well with the Ubass. As far as double bass I wouldn't know.

I have a shipping number now ... should have it Monday. I ordered from Owen at RoadToad and he gave it a little setup love before shipping:

"I basically re-attached the strings that were overwound (A and D) and slightly down ramped the nut slots toward the peghead. Those are the areas where there are sometimes issues out of the factory, though Kala has been really good about inspection and/or correction of anything when they get here. I just look at it again to make sure.

Just a tip in tuning- when tuning to pitch, it’s good to give the string a slight lift at the nut and saddle to equalize the tension over its length. The softness of the polyurethane can grab a little.

Thanks and best regards, Owen"

hmmm...Interesting. I started doing that weeks ago, it has really helped to get the instrument into tune more quickly and to stay in tune.

Rehearsed last night with my Ubass and run it to micromark markbass, the sound is great. Up against drums and electric guitars still can cut through..
Been trying to put up the pictures but somehow couldn't get thru, something's wrong with my account:(
