Kalium Strings Terrible Customer Service

For every order placed, shipped promptly, and received from Kalium, there's likely 10 orders essentially ignored by Skip.

The strings aren't worth the headache of making sure you receive them. I guess some people manage to place orders and receive strings without any issues.

I've seen in other Kalium threads where some repeat customers openly admit that they have a process to ensure their strings get shipping, including placing the order, then emailing or calling Skip to make sure it was received.

I'd rather use imperfect string sets than have to remind someone that they need to give me what I just gave them money for. That's like if I ordered food at a counter-service place and had to go tell the line cook to get started on my order.

Man, it sucks to still see threads like this after 5+ years. I stopped ordering Kaliums for this exact reason in early 2017. I had been hoping they'd get it together by now as my new band has some wacky tunings for me to put my Dingwall in, but if something has been an issue for that many years without even being acknowledged, it's unlikely to ever get fixed.

Newtone makes custom sets to the exact length of your instrument. Every possible gauge is available up to .20x. But they're in UK so there's a foreign transaction fee if you're anywhere else, on top of them being expensive because they're custom.
The 5 string set I got was something like $65.

Good call!

I bought strings from them before, just nothing out of the ordinary with regards to length/gauge. Good strings. I tried them as I heard a few saying they were comparable to DR, which is generally my favourite brand, but cheaper being in the UK.

I haven't have many interactions with Newtone, but all I hear is good.
