All those genres dont have the equvalant of being hit upside the head with a hammer like the way Hip Hop music is played and/or produced with the sub lows vibrating everything in sight. Its not a question of volume as it is certain frequencies jacked to the moon for maximum obnoxiousness, what they blather on about in these tunes I could care less.

Again, that's not just hip-hop but any form of club music these days.

I'm sure it must be tough for certain individuals who probably have been spending most their lives practicing an instrument and still not have what it takes to cut the mustard. Then they see or hear kids a fraction of their Age who are just "talking over machines" getting the money fame and respect they feel they deserve. Tough pill to swallow for some.

I was wondering the same thing. Thought this was a bass players forum.

Deathfrombelow, Im no expert on hiphop except for the fact that I know what annoys me when I hear it. I dont have to enjoy it like you do, all I said was please keep it to an exceptable volume level in public OK. Urban drama set to electronic beats just aint that freakin interesting to me, If its your bag, fine

My god son does Drums/Bass in Miami clubs, so Im aware of other "Club Music" love the kid, cant stand his music. But he makes decent money for making bombastic sounds on a synth, people that stay up very late at night seem to get something out of it. I asked him if he ever jammed with other musicians and he said "why? this is what I do" the truth is that he cant hang with other musicians, he knows what his little machine can do sound wise and has a rudementry grasp of the keyboard, but he doesnt really know how to play or interact in a musical combo context.

You might be on to something. If I couldn't play an instrument, at least I would have something in common with these "artists".

Yes I agree he's just the most special awesome person and I think we should build him a pedestal to honor him in a proper way.
