Kappalite3015LF+Alpha8MRA

I want to build a "15+mid" cab. Kappalite 3015LF has insane long Xmax of 9.6 mm, which allows to put full 450W without shade of distortion. But kappalite needs mid. Will a Alpha 8MRA do the job?

I use Hartke 3500 (240W@8Ohm, 350W@4Ohm), i play mainly metal, core etc. Fingerstyle.
 
Transients will be fine with any alignment with a good cab tuning/volume match to the driver. This is a good driver and that's a decent size and tuning for it.

I think you might be actually talking about group delay here. Do a cab with your volume and tuning and open another with 113 liters and 44 fb. Then go to group delay view and you'll see a subtle divergence centered around 40 to 60 Hz. Neither of these alignments is hurtin' for group delay (this driver works well for lows and doesn't depend much on port gain) and I doubt that even with strong fundamental content most people could hear the difference.
 
I bought recently a BP102. In a box of 43L and 35Hz it was not much selective, it was muddy in fact. And at a WinISD graph it looks much better than Kappalite. AFAI read GD graph means next to nothing. I PM'ed BFM an according to him a sensitivity hump (to small box) shows boominess.
 
For an iota of an example of how bad a lot of 15 cabs are, do the 3015LF in 70 liters (common size for many 15 cabs) and tune it to 53 Hz. Look at that hump on the transfer function magnitude. Then look at the group delay: it's not that it is high - it's that the delay has increased sufficiently in the area an electric bass makes a lot of its content. The same delay an octave lower wouldn't be anything to speak of, but higher up it reflects mistuning and small box. That makes it seem slower, more bloated with midbass too.

And compared to the picture with a lot of less capable drivers, that mistuned too-small-of-a-box 3015LF plot is actually pretty clean : \
 
Smooth isn't what this is about - any vented cab has a rise of GD at the lower usuable frequencies.

Look at the 60 Hz and up region - that's where the majority of electric bass content is for a five-string. There the smaller, higher tuned cab is leaning on the port heavily. Also check out the rear port gain graph. Output from the port takes a longer slower route than output from direct radiating. And for the smaller cab the port gain is HIGHER, and at higher frequencies.
