We had a New Orleans sax player sit in with us last night. He lost everything. He told me Jupiter was giving out horns and that's where he got his.

We've chosen to go with a smaller banner that John has designed, I think it's great. You can see it at the top-left, I've put it over what used to be a box of 'member links' which were all redundant anyway (found elsewhere atop the header).

Perhaps this is a stupid question but wouldn't anybody who lost their bass in Katrina have insurance? Or are insurance companies just not paying?

Maybe not but if they did, I am sure their losses extend beyone just the Bass. Getting a new house or income to support the family is probably the main concern. Insurance does not always replace everything. What the TBers are doing is a great thing and allows victums to direct funds elsewhere if necessary.

Plus, if they DID have homeowners or other types of insurance, they mostly have a clause that exclude floods and 'acts of god'.

Ray is right. I live in a flood plain and pay a separate federal flood insurance. Anything damaged in a flood is covered under this policy ONLY and not my homeowner's insurance.

Great thing you guys are doing here. Keep it up. Glad we have a way to contribute where we know exactly where the funds are going -- into the hands of musicians who will use it well.
