I solved the problem with the Yamaha. I don't plan on joining a band, so the Kay stays at home. I drive a BMW 4 series. Here is the Yamaha in my car. The seats do not recliner far (2 door car), so it barely fits.

That'll certainly work, although there may be a time when your teacher would like to work with you on the Kay and maybe check the setup, etc., as you advance. I have an EUB that I love, too, but it's not the same as playing the "real thing, baby."

I transported uprights in my E36 BMW all the time ('93 325i).
