Having lost my father just 5 short years ago, I'd be remiss if I did not say 'keep it'.
Keep it!
If you're not in love with it at the moment, put it in a case, and put it in the back of your closet.
My father was a tough sailor - spent many years on a submarine back in the Diesel-electric sub days.
He loved us, and we knew it, but did not do many things outwardly to show it.
One day, when I was 16 or so, and "thought" I was in a band, but did not have a bass, he took me to the music store and bought me a Gibson bass and a Polytone Brute.
He then drove me to the rehearsal to find another bassist there already.
I was crushed, and we returned the bass.
But that act, I'll never forget.
Damn. Miss my dad.
Keep it!
