Owned this from Nov '03 to Feb '04. No pics except these from BassNW where I purchased it. Awesome build quality, attention to detail, playability. Great tone, as well. Previous owner swapped out the original Lane Poors for Barts. Met Ken in person and spoke with him on the phone several times. A real gentleman. Keeps a record of every bass he's ever made. Quite a bass player, too. Only reason I let it go...it was too heavy for my old, abused shoulders. Sometimes (like right now) I wish I'd kept it. As I prefer double-cuts, there may be a Unity in my future. Yes, I like the headstock.

The groove shoppe has gorgeous 5-string fretless in stock! I'm so tempted to sell like 3 basses and buy it! It's freaking amazing!

I can't afford this one right now! I hope someone gets it and gives it some love.

This was my favorite bass in the groove shoppe. Sounds even better than it looks!

Someone from Talkbass had Ken build him that bass (the fretless 5, now at the Grooveshop), but decided that even though it was an incredible bass, he couldn't justify spending that much $ on one bass. We chatted about it for a bit. He was considering a Stambaugh instead last I heard...

I think it's the wait...Ken's not as prolific as some luthiers either. Still, the quality is superb.

I'd add to the KL love if I could afford to.....still my dream bass....33" scale chamberbrase II, 16.mm string spacing, 26 frets.....man what I wouldn't do!

I like the circular motion the knobs seem to give off.Definitely a big admirer of his work.

This has been my favorite instrument since I ordered it from Ken 15 years ago. Ken's work is easily among the best in the industry. This is one of the rare KL basses with anything other than a natural finish.
