Ken on Jeopardy!

It's like they're deliberately trying to tank Jeopardy! :sour:

No. I don't think so.

They were just hedging their bets, and had all the contracts signed already. Plus Jennings needs to extricate himself from that other show, and maybe move to California if he's not there already.

I think the producers are waiting impatiently for these guest hosts to stop already, but they can't stop the momentum.

If you think about it, it's not especially difficult to competently host a game show, even if it's "Jeopardy!" The real difficulty here is following Alex Trebek.
I quoted myself to make the point again. All of these guest hosts have plenty of on-air experience, and are perfectly comfortable in front of the camera, so they're all bound to be at least good at the job. The fact that it's a temporary guest host gig takes some of the "I'm following Alex Trebek!" pressure off.

My biggest problem with the whole thing now is the seemingly endless parade of guest hosts. It seems like a gimmick, and one of my favorite things about "Jeopardy!" is that it's genuine, and doesn't need gimmicks. If I wasn't a decades-long fan of "Jeopardy!", I'd probably be done with it by now.

Having said all that, Bob Costas might be good. Might as well throw his name in the hat.:meh:

Breaking News!

LeVar Burton will get a shot at Jeopardy! :hyper:

LeVar Burton to be 'Jeopardy!' guest host; petition credited

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The 200,000-plus LeVar Burton boosters who signed a petition calling for him to be the new “Jeopardy!” host will get to see him try the job on for size.

Burton is among the final group of guest hosts for the quiz show, which lost its longtime host Alex Trebek to cancer last November and has put off announcing his successor.

Burton’s supporters seized the opportunity to launch an online petition for the actor, who starred on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and “Roots,” and was the host of “Reading Rainbow,” the children’s educational program.

In his career, Burton has “inspired and shaped the minds of several generations of trivia-loving nerds,” according to the petition that, as of Wednesday, had 246,000 and counting signers.

Ha! But Sajak is 74, and in the 13 months I've been working from home I've seen a bunch of Drew Carey on The Price Is Right--keep Drew, let Pat retire.

Sajak isn't everyone's cup 'o tea and he's getting more "crusty" as he ages. He's always had a sarcastic streak. But I like him.

Nobody can replace Alex but so far Ken and the producer guy are leading the pack.
My only issue with "the producer guy" is that IMO he came across as too slick and polished.

It's like listening to a band play rock & roll "by the numbers," so to speak. They're perfectly on-key and on time, and they're hitting all the right notes, but something just ain't there. Again, IMO.
