Ken Smith Compressors

Just out of curiosity, which specific sets of gauges are you referring to?
I believe what I was using was 44-102 but I’m going by memory. The only bass I still have them on is a Guild 302 fretless (and they sound great). I don’t really mind the tension so much but the stiffness bothers me a bit. I used them for many years on a fretless Stingray and loved the tone but I just started to feel like I was working harder than I should. Maybe I should try a gauge down.

I use the Pressurewound 40-96. The Ultramag 40-100 are closer to PW 40-96 in terms of stiffness than to PW 44-102. I started out with 44-102 but find the 40-96 more comfortable without feeling too loose.
