I listened to the CD. On the cover Jino is holding a different bass. Looks like some type of Jazz with Nordie fat stacks.I'm assuming he plays that bass on the CD. I liked his Atelier Z sound better. I really wanted to like this CD but it just doesn't do it for me. Track 1 is a Marcus tribute song. something I would normally love but his bass sounds harsh and thin and doesn't sit well in the mix. I don't think it's my speakers or my ears. All the other tunes are forgettable at best. Weak compositions, mediocre singing, horrible lyrics and way too many "musicstore chops" triplets. Almost sounds like a home studio demo from the 80s.Nothing that really grabs me.I know Jino is a really talented guy, but this CD is not up to the standard that he already set for himself.
I know somebody will come to Jino's rescue and say "what have you done"? fair enough.... but to me there are only two tunes that are OK in a smooth jazz kind of a way. Track 7 :Across My Heart and track 10: Still Here.
