i've actually heard this through a drummer i play with sometimes, he said one of his instructors from the new school of jazz always would say that kenny G used to be really hip when he was young.

its through an instructor of a friends so, who knows how true that is. personally i find it hard to believe. oh well, ill just go ahead and keep listening to horn players that we're always hip..

The Columbia studio WAS a church before being converted to a studio. Most people considered it to have great acoustics.

I think they put up apartment buildings on that spot now.
