Double Bass "Kenny's Sound" - Kenny Burrell

My takedown of a terrific tune from Kenny Burrell's album Midnight Blue. Basically rhythm changes with a different bridge. Did my best to capture the phrasing and articulation of the melody but feel free to chime in with any edits you hear.


*And a quick shout-out to Don Kasper for inspiring me to post this. He's transcribed and posted a treasure trove of wonderful tunes, some of which (like this one) are slightly off the beaten path.

As a tenor saxist,
I think "Chittlins ConCarne "on this same album) is a masterpiece of simplicity, easily taught to the rhythm section within 30 seconds, and distinctive. Simple, distictive, and really good is a wonderful goal for composers, not very often accomplished.
