Keyboard Player Quits

We had a 5 piece band. 2 guitarists, Bass ,Drums and keyboards.
The keys guy lives right across the street. I have known him for 66 years. He recently got a divorce and has hooked up with a gal with 5 at home kids.
My buddy has 4 Irish Setters and the gals oldest son brought a mama pitt bull and 7 puppies.
The dogs are all inside the house. And the house smells of dogs and dog poop.
We have asked him not to let them into the practice room and he says he won't but they do and they crap in there. They pick up what they see.
We have complained about it 3 times and he has quit over this 3 times besides throwing little bitch fits saying he has provided a place to play and had water and beer for us.
Last Friday at practice the drummer found dog poopie behind his vintage Sonor drum kit.
We started practicing and took a break and the keyboardist got off work ( he is a licensed Pharmacist ) and got there. The drummer told him there was dog poopie in there and it stunk.
Keyboard guy got mad and went inside and cleaned up the poop and lit a scented candle. Came back and told us that he told those kids to clean it up and that he cleaned it up and lit a candle and angrily that he was through with us and he quit.
He went back upstairs .
We got our stuff out of there and decided that we should let him stay quit.
We had a gig the next night and cleaned all the cables with Clorox wipes and got a lint roller to get dog hair off the PA and Monitors.
We are better off without his melodrama and nasty dogs .
I think we were way more than understanding for too long.

What i find odd is that the keyboard player quit multiple times over this, but not the other way around. I'm kind of amazed that everyone else in the band didn't quit AND kept coming back to the house with dog dung in the rehearsal room AND left their gear in the rehearsal room where the dogs go to the bathroom. :bored: Am i the only one who thinks this whole situation is backwards? Very confused. o_O

Seems like you have missed a few opportunities to rectify the situation. The first time you can complain, but if you make a habit of not accepting his resignation, at some point it's on you.

Yes, you're definitely past that point now.

For some reason the Brady Bunch theme is now stuck in my brain.
