A lot of the punk/hardcore/emo guys will know these bands. I saw Thrice and Thursday a long time ago...Thursday was already making the rounds on MTV/Fuse and Thrice was still not as well known - Thrice completely owned the gig. It was teh rock.

Killing the Headliner!

Although they were "co-headlining" Dream Theater COMPLETELY killed Megadeth and all the other bands that they were playing. They just came in and played everything perfectly.
I saw Iced Earth blow the doors off of a show. Megadeth played a good set but it was nothing like Iced Earth put on.
Tantric got Puddle of Mudd.
or at least i guess so, i got thrown out for distributing flyers for my band's next gig during intermission. but at least i got to hang out with some of the tantric guys afterwards. very humble, cool dudes.

Yes opened for Sabbath in the very early 70's and for my money killed 'em.
I saw Be-Bop Deluxe (Bill NElson) open for band called ANGEL (the white costumed kiss) and totally tore them up.
A great 70's prog band called ETHOS did the same thing to ANgel.

I saw Rockpile open for Blondie in the Fox theater in Atlanta. We walked in the door just as Rockpile went on, opening with "Crawling from the Wreakage". The whole theater was jumping. They were limited to one encore and the lights came up before they were completely off the stage. After that, Blondie was a let down. At the end of Blondie's encore, people were calling for Rockpile. Blondie's bassist (name escapes me) was so disgusted he just glared at the audience and dropped his bass on the drum riser from waist high as they left the stage.
Apparently this was happening at every show. Rockpile got dropped from the tour. Blondie just couldn't follow them.

That would be them. They had a semi hit called the Tower. Guitar player was Punky Meadows. I can't explain it but I had two of their records. Ouch
