KISS Army

I saw Kiss in like 1976/77...and thought they were horrible...but this fantastic unknown band called "The Electromagnets" opened for them, and they had an amazing young guitar player...I had no idea at the time, but it turned out to be Eric Johnson...

It seems that Kiss is coming to my country next month, ten days before Motörhead. Having to pay not only the admission but bus tickets (9-hour trip) plus food and a place to rest before/after the concert, I must choose just one. No doubt about it if this were 1980, but without Ace, Kiss is not that attractive to me.

It doesn't "seem" anymore. IT'S FOR REAL and I couldn't resist after seeing both events together screaming my name:

My credit card has suffered a severe hit, but I know that there won't be another chance to see these guys, so I feel happy now.

I qualify as a member. Been a fan for over 30 years. KISS was my first ever concert in 82 on the Creatures tour, and they were the first band I ever got into, back when I was 8 years old!! I wore out numerous vinyl copies of the early albums.

I felt like a 10 year old kid when i saw them on the reunion tour!! And personally, I have no problem with them continuing the band without Ace and Peter, but they REALLY should have given Thayer and Singer their own characters like they did with Eric Carr and Vinnie Vincent. It's kinda like sacrilege to dress others up in Ace and Peters gear/makeup, IMHO.

Cheers!

Glad someone gave a nod to The Elder. That is actually one of my favorite KISS albums.

I have seen KISS only 3 times; Dynasty tour, Lick it up, and Creatures of the Night. I think the last one was CoftN, no makeup, huge tank stage, Eric on drums and uhm cant remember his name right now, in Ace's spot. *shrug*

My fav albums that come to mind first are Hotter Then Hell, Destroyer, Double Platinum (even if it is a greatest hits, Strutter 78 rocks. Killers is another cool compilation album of theirs), Dynasty, The Elder. Psycho Circus isn't that bad either. Im not as familiar with their works past CoftN as Id like to be but Asylum and Hot in the Shade aren't that bad from what I remember of them (lost the copies I had of those).

I never got a chance to see Frehleys Comet but I have everything they ever put out in vinyl and CD. ^_^

It should be Vinnie Vincent during the "Lick It Up" tour.

Absolutely. All four new songs on that album are great.

...and it finally arrived. Can't express my feelings with words. My teenage dream has just came true at 42. I thought I was going to enjoy the concert with my usual serenity, but I was the first one screaming, clapping and singing. I am VERY BAD at drawing, but all my teenage years drawing the Kiss logo and makeup designs on the last page of my notebooks proved to be very useful. I painted myself and the girl with the red jacket very carefully at my hotel room. We met the other couple at the venue thinking that they were already painted, but I had to paint them there without good materials. I can do Ace way better, but the guy was very happy. Long life to the Kiss Army! Do I need to say more?
