I haven't seen much on talkbass around these basses(Samson by Kithara out of Ireland), but watching Dave Landreth of the Bros. Landreth play one the other night(unsure of his exact specs), all I can say is that the tone was magical. I'm sure the Noble/HX stomp/Barefaced cab combination helped along with the venue itself, but he used it in both an acoustic set, and with full band and it sounded incredibly full and rich. I guess I've been biased, because I honestly didn't know shortscales could sound that good(does size really matter?...Heyo!). Does anyone on here have any experience with this bass? Enquiring minds want to know.

I saw them on this recent tour in Atlanta - and had a similar reaction. I was literally so close to the stage that I could have worked Dave's pedalboard. It looked to me like he favored the "Novak" style pick-up pretty much the whole show.
I checked out the Kithara website and they look very cool and not ridiculously expensive (with the exception of what it would cost to have one shipped to the US I suppose.)
On the other hand - I've been spoiling to do a "parts caster" bass build - and am really intrigued by the pick-ups on that Kithara....

Nice! They really are fantastic live(The Bros... and the bass too I guess). This last tour was pretty intimate venues along the way, at least up here, and they sounded as good as I've ever heard them. You should get a Kithara. Do it... DOOO IT! Just think of how incredible they sound and you'd probably be the only person within 100 miles with one.

Yeah - we saw them at a place called Eddie's Attic in a suburb of Atlanta called Decatur - and it was super intimate. I wasn't more than 10 feet from Dave. Had never seen a Kithara before that - so was really curious about them. Certainly very cool looking - and the more I read about the Novak Bi-sonic the more I want to try one. I'm currently waiting on a new LEH 4-string so the Kithara will be down the line a bit if I get to explore that.
