What's your policy?
I have given away a Benchmade Griptilian, a mini-Griptilian, and, recently, an s30v Crooked River. Most expensive knife I've ever owned. I can't tell if I gave it to my friend who truly deserves it (his s30v spyderco got stolen), or if I'm trying to make an excuse for a stupid expensive custom Barrage (blacked out m4 on carbon fibre). I also don't even know I'm going to live in a country with legal open assist in the next 48mo. I am not good with some things.

I had the mini and the big barrage gave the little one to my nephew and the big one to a co worker .
They both fire just as hard As any auto the big one actually had a kick The plastic handles felt really cheap .
Carbon handles though, definitely a good thing
Back when... I was pretty stoked on knifes so in hopes of getting others into them I would give them away .
I like the 940 , its actually quicker than any auto to open and close, blade has good shape dam near perfect pocket knife

Got a house warming gift of the for the wife... ordered it in April, just got it last week. The wife loves it.

Hey! Looking at a custom benchmade (finally). Gonna be a blacked out Barrage. I already have a Barrage with a "glass-filled nylon" handle. I have money for either G10 or Carbon Fibre. Literally makes no difference.
I like the blacked out look of an M4 blade, but. As I already own Benchmades in 440C, 154CM and S30V, M4 and S90V are the only options.
If money is no object and the Benchmade Barrage is the best knife you've ever wanted, would you go full out crazy? I WILL buy a $300+ knife, even if it is to be played with. I got knives to do work. What handle would you do? (G10/CF) and what blade (M4/S90V)?

M4 will corrode ( tool steel ) but seeing how its coated that shouldn't be an issue

My two cents, but I'd lean toward the CF handle just for uniqueness. G-10 handles are everywhere while CF is not nearly as common. I'd also second @Honky Tonk's recommendation of M4 over S90V. Both hold their edge wonderfully and while both are quite difficult to sharpen, M4 is a little easier to re-hone.
Finally made the plunge and the Benchmade custom shop doesn't exist. I dont want to stray from bennchmade but is there another assisted open axis lock knife in the 200-300 range?
When I started collecting i really wanted an auto so I got some assisted opening knifes soon grew tired of them
Really I just wanted and craved an Out The Front
Once I got my OTF fix I was happy with a folder

My Grandpa had one of these, and my Grandma wisely sold it to a collector as opposed to giving it to me at 15 years old

I bought one of these yesterday.
A Leatherman Skeletool CX.
I've wanted one for a while, but I research almost anything I buy for months.
Here it is.
I like the minimalist approach of this design.
Medium-duty pliers, a good blade, not too long and the bit driver, which is the screwdriver.
It has a pocket clip, but not all of them come with a sheath; you have to make sure when you buy it as they're all the same price.
$80 at B&H Photo.
Yes, B&H has a lot more than camera and video equipment. They sell musical instruments now.
Then, since they're around the corner, I went to, Sam Ash.
A thread on that is coming.

That's very nice Mapleglo, but I think you would like the Leatherman.
It feels very natural in your hand, opens easlily with one hand, and has just the right tools for an every day carry.
I do want to get another Leatherman, possibly a Surge, but I know I wouldn't carry it all the time.
Check one out if you can.

I have carried many multi-tools over the years and have found the best by far to be the Victorinox Spirit.
I, too, am a big fan of a good pukko. It's what a Viking would EDC.
