Korean made Fender Jazz Bass

I bought this bass (I also have a Roadster Orange Ibanez SDGR SR300 - play them through an Ampeg Combo BA115) just recently and love it. A question, though - it has a black headstock. Was the neck replaced at some point? It does have a standard serial # for the series, i.e. 060505...

I am pretty sure the 24 fret models were made by Cort for Fender. Great bass if you get a good deal.
Hi there! I was looking through old threads because I've had this bass for nearly 8 years now, and recently had to take it to get the jack repaired (pretty easy fix). While they were checking it in, it caught the owner of the store's eye, and he came over to check it out. At first, he seemed impressed, but quickly came to the conclusion that it was not a fender Jbass, due to the fact that the bolt on neck has 6, not 4, bolts. I tried to explain that I bought it from a Guitar Center, and that I doubt they would be selling counterfeit instruments. I was actually trying to get some trade in value towards a new bass. What can I tell this guy to prove that it is a Fender? I mean if it was made by Cort, that seems like a reasonable explanation. Is there any proof I can provide? Thanks in advance.

Some people are just set in their ways and you may not be able to change his mind. Here is the link for the Fender site explaining the Korean models made by Cort for Fender: Invalid Link Removed

On a side note, You can more on here for it than in trade. Most TB'ers like those basses including myself.
