PS sorry for my english

I'm not too keen on the small machine heads, but they are really good basses for the money. Also depends on the factory in Korea they were made in. You can tell by the serial number. Its all decoded on the Squier Wiki. See if you can get it for $175. If you can't, still get it. I got my Squier II for $100 bucks and its my main gigging and recording bass. Waaaay better than the affinity's.

I would ask if they can take the neck of for you to see if it is plywood or not. Some Korean squire's were reportedly pretty good, but alot of them were real dogs. I had a Korean squire jazz bass. The neck was pretty nice, but the body was a plywood boat anchor. I didn't keep it long.

If it's plywood, I would skip it. If it's hardwood and it sounds better than an affinity, I would consider purchasing it.

My Korean Jazz is pretty nice. I haven't checked the neck pocket to see if it's plywood, but the seams visible through the paint leads me to think it's a 3 or 4 peice body and it's quite light. I paid $200 for it when other Squiers around here go for under $100 easy, but no regrets since the quality is definitely there. I also have an Indonesian Squier P Special that isn't nearly as nice (not bad, but not as good). One note tho is that I bought the Squiers so that I could carve into them guilt-free; the Jazz is routed to hell, active MEC pickups, and has a wenge neck, while the P has a D-Tuner and a DiMarzio X2N7 pickup. No, the Jazz doesn't sound like a Warwick (that was the plan, if you want the sound you gotta pay the bucks!).

I just picked one up that looks just like that, except with a maple FB for $100... I'm not too keen on the little tuning pegs, but it sounds and plays great!!
The serial number says mine was made in 1993, though...
