Korn's bass player.....

Ok great all of my questions were answered. Thanks a lot for all the help. I am going to log off, but I like this forum, so i'm sure i will be back. I always have questions.

I was almost the same way when I first started out, I moved from guitar to bass, and I was in my big Korn stage. That was about 2 years ago, and now I like listening to all differnt kind of styles. Fieldy pretty much inspired me to start playing bass, and a very early influence. For example, I used to play with his smiley eq, but now I can't hardly stand to use that, because I can't cut through. Anyway there's my two cents.

a Graphic EQ has sliders that usually +/-15dB at one band each, they go all the way up to 31 band.

I think Flea's awesome, and I don't hear enough Korn toknow fieldy. People who hate these fellows just love to bash them and their fans.
Actually lotsa people here love Flea.
Some great songs - his solos, around the world, subway to venus, stone cold bush, almost anything. I had a thread on his best songs, you can search for it.
Welcome to talkbass.
You'll soon find that, though some people are not nice, others are, and have interesting personalities. They can really help you with stuff. You will also learn that John Turner is the coolest guy on Earth.
Oh, and try to mention fieldly in as neutral a way as possible, because people love to ruin boards for his fans by bashing him.

It's wierd because when I first took up bass I was obsessed with KoRn, totally, but I never wanted to play like fieldy. INfact I didn't really class him as a bassplayer.
The fieldy sound is almost all treble and bass, as the others said, cut the middle frequencies, mute the strings and murder your bass with your picking/plucking hand. I think he also only mikes the horn on his amp to get the clicky sound.

Everyone who said the scooped midrange is right, except...ALL the clicking comes from the miked tweeter. Not a pedal.

crank the bass and the treble and scoop your mids. that should help you get the genral idea.
