Kramer 250B Tone Sample???

I've had my eye on one of these because of the way this bass sounds in this video: Green Day - Paper Lanterns [Live @ Woodstock 1994, Mudfight] - YouTube

Sadly that is the only time I've EVER heard one and I really want to get a better listen to the tone to really assess if it is more bass or more amp to that tone, because whatever it is I am absolutely in love with it. Also, if anyone just knows how to get a tone like that I will love you forever!

That brings back some memories. Those are cool basses, but I imagine it is a combo of bass, amp, and player.

I would bet solid money that hardly any of the tone in that vid is directly associated with the specifics of the bass. Playing with a pick, and bright rounds, through an SVT or BDDI/VT/etc, would get you there a lot faster than buying an aluminum-neck Kramer.

it’s the Kramer 250b with the replacement pickup.... do you know what that is? get both of those and it’ll sound just like it. Know cause I own one or two

It’s the bass for sure. You also need to be proficient in playing with a pick, new strings and you’re all set.
