Kramer D-1 Disciple anyone?

Could you post some quick-reviews on these beauties and give some info.
Which mics and preamp there really are? What the "asymmetrical" neck really means? (Imma dum-dum,
OK it ain't symmetrical, but is it thicker on bass side or what?)
Are flats good for this bass? :confused:

Thinking about getting one online so need info and experiences. I currently have a Squier Special Standard P-Bass, so what to except when changing?
I'd really apriciate the help.

These look pretty good in specs, imo very low price if these indeed include EMG electronics and ebony fretboard. Anyone else got electronics similar to anarkink's?
Also a newbie question: How does the active electronics affect to what kind amp should be used? :hiding:

Sorry for the thread abandonment. I'll give my opinion, had it or a bit (keep in mind mine has "rockfield" pickups and unknown pre).

As a concept it is great: great ergonomics, super light, nice price.

Execution: not great, the fretwork on mine is pretty poor (sharp ends), and the neck has a tiny bit of hump around the 14-15th fret. So setup can only get so good. Doesn't sound bad, but my TRB 1006 (no boutique by any means) sounds twice as good to me and I've used both with the same band.

Anyways mine could be a bit of a lemon, but it doesn't get any play time at the moment.

Hey guys n' girls, site noob here so go easy on me.

I have a D-1 myself with the EMG preamp and pickup and I can honestly say I cannot fault this bass.

Granted, when I got it, there was a bit of fret buzz, but this was easily fixed by raising the action ever so slightly. Frets didn't need any attention which was a relief.

I can't fault the sound. It's versatile in the range you can get from it. Sustain is great and has a good punch to it.

The neck is extremely fast and have had no problems with it other than the battery going flat.

I play through a Carlsbro bass beastie and I have to say, it's the best sounding bass I have owned.

I went for the red and black variant.

All in all, a very well balanced, great sounding bass that is a joy to play! Only thing I must do now is change strings :p ( Joys of it eh? )

I found it strange that his pickup and preamp may be different ( it IS advertised as having the EMG gear,, maybe somebody did a switch?? :p or maybe I'm being paranoid). But all in all, I'm 100% happy with my D-1. You never see another one, and I always get asked about it.

Got mine!!! Have to say I am really chuffed with it.

The finish and set up is absolutely spot on, no adjustment needed for me at all, aside from tuning. Played it through my little Orange 50w combo and the sound is stunning. Talk about power!! The pick up definitely is EMG on mine, looks so huge!!
The balance is perfect, hold the guitar at the cutaway and it just sits perfectly, no head or tail list, just balanced perfect.
The neck is lovely, with its smooth satin finish on the back. If i have to say one thing bad, the neck, although extremely comfortabe, is slightly wide. Fine if you have big hands and longish fingers, but not teally ideal as a beginners bass.

This is a step up in terms of quality from my Peavey Millenium 4, so all in all i reckon a fine piece of kit and should not be discounted in favour of other basses, just because it seems cheap. It certainly plays and sounds far better than its price would suggest.
