Ignoring the poor quality of their punk rods, how is the rest of their stuff? I haven't heard anything about their touch guitars, travel guitars, or regular basses and guitars yet. I know they recycle wood though to make all their stuff though.

Krappy Guitars?

See the "my crappy custom build" for reviews of a $200ish Krappy 3-string twiggy electric upright. I'm gassing for some Krappys pretty hard. I got quoted $250 on a four string lefty twiggy, and when I get out of the money dungeon, I plan to do just that.
the punkrods are basically joke instruments and appropriately priced, though I hear they don't play badly for what they are. The others are nice little instruments, and the tapstyles are quite nice. I intend to get a tapstyle instrument from them someday.
I like the Twiggy and Punkbass. 
It will all be novelty until someone famous shows up playing one and it's all over from there.

I'm the guy with the Twiggy-3. I think the bit in the Manifesto about recycled shipping pallets, baling wire, etc. can be taken with an extremely large grain of salt.

i never thought about that...it doesnt seem very cost effective, with fuel surcharges on shipping, etc.
the weight of wood required to make a guitar is anywhere from 50-75% more than the final weight of the instrument,
hence the no-sum-gain.
i suppose if there were an old headboard from grandma's bed, or uncle charlie's wooden leg--something of significance, it could be worth it to the end user...
