Kubicki club, part 2

Would anyone be interested in a Kubicki bass? I have a few I just got today. They'll be for sale....I have not priced them and I need to take pictures and post them but I don't want to spam this thread. I actually have 14 basses to sell, three are Kubicki's. One Kubicki is a 5 string. I am selling for a friend whose husband passed away. Hopefully I will sell these before I buy them for myself...it's hard to get 14 basses dropped in your lap and not fall in love with at least one.

I’m sure you won’t have a problem moving Kubickis if you do sell em. Good on you for helping out.

I didn't notice that the Kubicki's strings have high tension.

One thing I’m noticing about my Kubicki is the tension of the strings seem really high. Is that kinda normal because of the shorter scale? It’s strung with the Kubicki brand strings.

I read at one time, somewhere, that Kubicki recommended 45~105 higher tension strings exactly because of the shorter scale. That was before their move to DR Pure Blues in the nickel sets, which is odd because the PBs are round core and known to be somewhat more loose than regular hex core strings. Personally, instead of Kubicki DR PB45s, I like PB 45/100s, having the lighter E/A strings.

Now that I'm past 50, I hear ya @JIO ... we're all gonna be on that boat sooner or later. You're a good friend @billdeg for helping out. I wouldn't feel guilty about giving yourself a nice discount on the one you fall in love with. It takes a lot of time+effort to sort through all that. Would I like a Key Factor 5? Yes, but I'm not in the market for "one more" bass. I wish you luck!

I can relate. I have 1 foot on that boat and it's shoving off from the dock it seems. Recently stepped down to make way for a sub as I go in to the final series of tests leading to a lung transplant. Yet I still lurk here every day though.....Defiant.

I've seen the rare corral ones but don't know if I've ever seen that shade. Raspberry? Very '80s.

Good think it wasn't a purple burst, or worse, the purple-black flip-flop. Then, I'd be in real trouble.
