Kustom 118B replacement speaker

I've never got to play a 300Pro, but have heard a few....well, actually the same guys a few times....beastly they are. On paper, seems like a solid combination. In person, maybe even more so. Basically monster highbass/lowmid output there with clear mids and a bit of character if you really let loose....

I just stopped by the house to pick up the 300 Pro/118B before practice and it's a total monster. It sounds like a louder version of my B-12XTC with 6550's and the the Kustom 215. That translates to a huge low midrange presence with just enough mid and high range to allow for nuance on top of the huge, phat, punchy low end.

Glad the 18FH500 worked for you, Chris!

I was going to use that woofer paired with a PA-style horn in a 118 cab, but decided there was just too much anti-18" sentiment for it to find much success in the marketplace. So the design is mothballed for now, but I must say that Faital did a fantastic job on the 18HF500, in my opinion. If you ever have a good excuse to try it in about eight cubic feet tuned to the lower 40's, it will rattle your world.
