Kustom Bass amp

Hey, i tried a bass amp today at a local music store. its a Kustom 115c 600w, that originally goes for around $850, but the guys cutting me a deal and selling it for 500.

i just want you guys' feedback on it. if it has a bad rep. I've read reviews all day and found 1 bad one out of about 50, and the kid was an idiot taht wrote the bad one. something along the lines of, "if it has the setting it should be able to be on it 100% of the time, i would max it out volume wise and put on the boost, and in a month or so, it blew out my speaker."

knowing that kid is a moron, i've yet to see a bad review, and the guy is selling me a 600w amp, new, for a price that is lower than standard used prices.

im also gettin a new Fender P bass for $375 new... so together i get a great bass and that bass amp for $875...

i think its a good deal,

but please tell me about the amp.

(oh, and its got an EQ, along with a 9-band EQ, a boost, a mute, tweeter, footswitch.. and some more cool stuff)

I have the Kustom Groove Bass 210c combo with 2X10 at 600 watts, and it rocks! I got the same deal, paid $550 I think, and what a combo!

First, it is real versatile, you can use the active 9 band EQ which is great, or the bass mid and high setting I use for a more direct, simple approach for my passive basses.

This thing is POWERFUL and LOUD, but cuts through a rock band mix real well. It is solid state, but so what? To me it's a work horse and will do an excellent job, esp with that Fender P bass.

Your best bet is to spend some time playing the P bass through the Kustom combo and play with the EQ and volume, make sure it's what you want. I don't think you will be dissappointed, and $500 for that combo is an amazing deal.

thanks for the info man,

i think im gettin a good deal, im goin by this afternoon to try it out for the 3rd time, i've yet to be disappointed by it.

just gotta make sure it comes with that footswitch haha, need it for shows, cant be runnin back to the amp and hitting the boost button lol.

anyways, thanks a lot for your help.

There is a Kustom Groove Bass 1200 watt head on Ebay right now. I used to own one of these heads, got it right here from a fellow TB'er. And I must say....JUST AWESOME AND POWER TO SPARE. :hyper: My only problem with it was it's weight. At 31 pounds, in a rackcase with a tuner and a power conditioner was just to much for me to carry by myself. Other than that, IMHO, the 1200 watt head would be the one to go for. :D:bassist:

I've got a Kustom KBA65 and for a 65 watt amp with a single 12 inch celestion its quite good. its got enough punch in it to hand small shows. i plugged it into my quad the other night and was very impressed. Dont think you will have any issues with the Kustom KBA115c
