Kustom Bass Guitar

I am looking everywere for a Kustom K200D Bass. No luck, But i just want to know how they sound and if they are solid basses. I love kustom amps, thats all i use and i saw the pictures of them and it made me deeply intrested. Has anyone ever tried one, own one or ever heard of them?

67' only. the only thing i heard about these is the bassist from vampire weekend uses one. i listend to some songs, cant really tell what the bass is like.

IMO,no matter what year a Kustom product is,it looks vintage.

Well, let's just say that I happen to have an EXTREMELY beaten example of the K200D in the actual "Wineburst" color... yes, it IS basically a green-to-purple "sunburst"... Not really my style...

It's not mine, it's a friend's, and I happen to know for certain that it's been in a closet for about the last 20 years. In fact, the direct quote from my wife: "Put that thing back in the case, it's stinking up the entire room!!" ...Yah, a touch musty. Let me know, I'm sure if the price is right he'd be willing to part with it!!

I've only ever seen the guitars, they pop up on ebay from time to time, but my guess would be that they're going to sound just like any other 60s/70s rick knock off.

The tuners are labelled GROVER - judging by the holes, they aren't original...

Serial #2814 (never saw a serial that low... )

Let me know if you want any more detailed or zoomed in pics of any part!! Pickguard has a chunk busted off of the corner (can see it in the pic), missing the knob label for one knob and the switch knob-cover for the pickup selector (I can zoom in on those if you need me to).

Forgot to mention, it does in fact work!! Slight noise in one of the volumes, pot probably just needs to be sprayed out. I can even do open pickguard pics if anyone is that interested.
