my early 80's L1000 has a funky warp in the neck which may or may not be able to be fixed. My questions are: will G&L work on or replace the neck and second; where would I be able to find a replacement neck. I'm in SoCal.
Thanks,
WoodyA
Don't know if G&L will work on your neck.. I kinda doubt it. They don't make the 3 bolt necks anymore, nor do they make 'em with your headsock shape. Reports are they will build replacement necks but they are rather pricey and cost prohibitive for most, and they wouldn't have the correct bolt pattern or headstock. Finding a used neck is like the proverbial "hen's tooth".
I'd suggest giving Michael Dolan http://www.dolanguitars.com/ a shout. He's in Santa Rosa and does nice work. He could evaluate your neck and maybe help you out.
