I have a 1981(?) G&L L2000 fretless, and I love it dearly. I'd like to play a Bongo sometime, do they come fretless?

If you love the G&L and you know it will really work for you, then don't let it get away. Go for the sure thing now, and plan to try out a Bongo as soon as you can find one to play. That way you don't have to take a risk on investing your money in the Bongo without having tried it out first, and without financial recourse if you change your mind.
Once you get a chance to play a Bongo, if you find that you love it too, then plan to make that your next bass purchase - unless for some reason you find that it's too similar to the G&L and you can't justify owning both...
