La’Bella DTF 760FL Did I Get a Bad String?

First time buying La’Bella DTF. I’ve been a ‘dead nickel rounds’ guy forever but swapping this particular P over to flats (hopefully for good). Opened my new strings and the E seemed odd straight away. As you can see from the pics, the outer wrap seems to stop quite early and it looks like the string could be sat on the saddle on or between the outer and inner wraps. Also the silk seems like its going to run out before the string is tuned to pitch and La’Bella said make sure the wrap is on the post and not the string. Is this normal or have I got a badly wrapped string? A string is similar but not as much due to gauge. Maybe I’m used to seeing the wraps go right up to the ball end? Cheers

They actually look fairly normal for LaBella flats.

Send an Email to their customer service before install , i can sure they will asking you install it and report back to them on reply email . If any issue happen, they will make you a replacement .

Few previous FL set i been use seem less rough warp on ball end than yours.

Thanks all. Yeah mine look basically the same as that picture. Installed them and they play fine. Im getting that ‘E string sounds dead compared to the others, and D & G sound too bright’ that ive read of in other threads, but sounds as though they’ll all even out. They’re really nice sounding strings regardless though. Very strong fundamental. The A string in particular sounds fantastic right out of the packet!
