La Baye 2x4 Bass

Hey TB,

First time posting here, so please let me know if this is not where I should be positing this.

I'm in search of the elusive La Baye 2x4 bass (preferably longscale, but would also be interested in a shortscale).

So I'm just putting the feelers out there to see if anyone knows anyone with one of these in their collection. I will pay top $ to get my hands on one of these.

Well apparently there were 2 of them made. I see the picture you have of the one, I have a long scale in a light walnut color. Are you still looking for a long scale La Baye? I am the original owner. It is an original in great shape.

very cool, nice to see it's guitar cousin keeping it company. these were 'out there' from day 1 and rarely seen anywhere, the only one I've witnessed was in the hands of Stephen Stills w/ Crosby n Nash as he played a solo just for me (front center seats) long ago on it. his was in a clear natural finish, back then he'd likely been interested in the long scale bass.

Oh wow - was it a six string that Stephen Stills was playing? I know that Bob1 of Devo has at least 1-2 six string La Baye's, and reportedly has a long scale bass as well.

I initially thought that there was only 1-2 long scale La Baye basses out there but I've seen more than 1-2 examples of them online, so that can't be right. I'd say there's probably only 10 of them made, and I'm pretty certain mine is the only one they made in this 'walnut' finish. A rare bird!

I think I have the last one made it has 2 pickups with a toggle switch to turn on either pickup or both. It also has controls for each pickup it looks identical to your picture except the amount of pots is doubled.
