La Bella Deep Talkin': Best. Strings. Ever.

LaBellas got me hooked on flats. I'm on my second set of Lights and I tried a medium before that. They're really rich sounding when fresh and react well to percussive accents and such. They're not without their problems though, the low E is a bit floppy and in all three sets I've had a weird phasing is evident on the A string once initial brightness wears off. I'm note sure if this is because I'm using their double ball end version. Like others mentioned their email responce is non existant.

Here's a clip of a Bach excerpt on well worn LaBella light flats:

Found this youtube clip that I feel accurately reflects the sweet Deep Talking Flats tone:

I apologize if this was already answered in this thread, but I am considering putting a set of 760FL's on my MTD- the bass is a 35" scale. Will I need the extra long set or will a standard length set suffice? Thanks in advance-

Thanks for the tunes - the Bach thing sounds soooo sweet. Can you elaborate on the diffrence in tone between the light and medium set? Will the medium set be as mellow as this, or diffrent? I am torn between trying the light or medium...

Depens a lot on how you strike the strings but I'd say lights will have a touch of Thomastik-ness and mediums a touch of Jamerson-ness as far as tone goes.

I was a Chromes user for a long time, but gave a set of La Bellas a try after reading so many comments on TB and immediately became a huge fan of them on my P basses. I don't love them on everything, however. My Reverend still sounds best with Chromes, and my J sounds perfect (to me) with well-aged DR SS rounds.

I just got a set of the round wounds today and even though I just put a new set of GHS Bassics on my Epi EB-3 only a few days ago I really want to take them off and throw the La Bellas on. Currently looking into picking up a couple sets of the flats for my Squier 60s CV Jazz.

I have been playing bass for half a year now. My first set Warwick yellow label string lasted 3 months but it hurts either to slap or play it. My second set of MTD Nickel strings sounds great but it's thick and lasted only 2 months. My third set D'Addario 160XL didn't even last a month and I hate the low E shallow sound. I put on La Bella 760 RM roundwounds to my Jazz Bass today and it is an absolutely killer string. Simply amazing.

I'm thinking about finally taking the plunge on these. The gauges of the FS set match those of the Sunbeams I've been using on most of my basses.

Unfortunately, Elderly looks to have raised the prices on all the DTF sets (except for the Jamerson set) from $29 to $36, so I'll be shopping around.

+1. I'm looking at the FL set, for my Squier P, currently wearing 50-105 Chromes. Chromes and Fender flats are all the flats I've used. La Bella may be worth a shot!

Be forewarned. The LaBella 760M flats are killer in ALL respects. Took some major setup to get things right. They do kill the old fingies as well. Not as young as I used to be.
I had to really crank down on the truss rod to get the neck straight. Then I had to shim the neck to get the action low enough so the intonation would be OK up and down the board. Then the "E" string was real tough to intonate. I have the saddle as far back as it'll go.
I think 2 of these issues are due to the fact that it's an inexpensive SX bass and need this work anyway.

love la bella flats!

my D string just broke on my 760FL set so it is a good excuse to change to the 760FM set :)

only bummer is that it takes a little while for these strings to break in and the set on there was already done and sounding sweet, have to start over with the new set

I have to order mine online so wondering if anyone has a good site with low price.

I ordered my last set from imperialguitar so if anyone has anywhere cheaper I would love to know.
