do the get more upper mids or highs than the ribbon round gold & whites? thanx. pNever heard a La Bella flat described as sticky before... These are far smoother than their standard stainless steel flats.

Does anyone know if the LaBella Gold Flats work with the SpectorCore Fishman Piezo pickup system?
I am in the midst of installing a set USED of short scale La Bella golds on my 80's Japan Aria 32" scale with dual humbuckers....i am certain these are 10 or 15 years old, they came in a Musicmaster guitar case that sat in a closet for a long time.
Not noticing any kind of stickiness, but immediately, the clankiness of the rounds unplugged is gone....cant wait to plug it in...we'll see!
I put these on my Musicman Sterling fretless V. They sound absolutely amazing. They nail the sound I am looking for. Great note clarity. Nice growl with a full lower mid. Somewhat scooped upper mids, and subdued highs. (But not dark sounding.) The only issue I had when using them at the last rehearsal was lack of bottom end. I need to look into this further. I don't think it was the strings. It may have been an issue with my IEM system, or I may need to adjust the pickup height a little. I will know more after the next rehearsal.
Yes.Thinking about getting these strings for my Sterling By Music Man Bass as well but mine would have frets. Would you recommend?

I bought the Labella Gold Flats 5 String set and love them. Zero stickiness. Here is a sample of me playing them.
Thanks for the compliment.Sounds great. Glad you like 'em. I didn't have the same experience, but that might have been due to playing my first gig with 'em outdoors, in humidity. Didn't spend any time breaking them in.
I'm impressed with how they seem to sound for you. Can you tell me the signal path? And how you've got that Sadowsky EQ-ed?
Nice playing on "I Wish". We just started covering that one too, quite a work-out!

LaBella's are very substantial strings, as such, they're not very flexible. I'd say it depends on how much of a bend is needed for through-body strings. Even if that part worked, I'd be concerned that the rigidness of these strings wouldn't give you a clean, natural "witness point" for intonation.Hello! Is it possible to instal these strings on through body bass?
kinda. not knowing any better I have my old Asian thru-P performing pricelessly with the gold banding on the E passing 1/4'' after the nut once in tune (I'm in D for the E).Hello! Is it possible to instal these strings on through body bass?
