I've had these on for two months now. They are very clear, and amplify beautifully. For me, just the right amount of sustain, similar to velvet blues, the strings I replaced them with. The sound gets there quicker than the velvets and doesn't sustain as long as spiros. No mwah - the thing that drove me away from spiros after using them for a couple of decades. Nice ping on the front of the note and the harmonics pop out beautifully. Nice range of dynamics - they respond to your touch. Stiff feel, somewhat like doms in that regard. The E is a little weak, and I'm thinking of swapping it with an old dom or spiro if it doesn't come around. The bottom 3 have little ridges reminiscent of the old golden spirals, which, coming from velvets, I don't mind, but might bug others. The G is smooth and white, unlike the bottom 3 that have a clear nylon coating and a coppery-looking core. Unlike the black LaBellas, which I found unbowable, you can bow these. More rosin than I normally use and tilting the bow (as opposed to flat hair on the string) works. That said, they don't bow well; you've got to really be precise to get them to speak, and they make my 40 year old pollman sound like a plywood with cheap guts. At this point of my life my arco playing is footballs behind singers and the occasional melody or "effect". If I were still doing the occasional classical gig, or were a guy who liked to solo with the bow, I would not use these strings.
