LaBella Gold White Tapewounds are amazing

I have purchased a set of the LaBella Gold White Tapewound strings from BassStringsonline and I have to say they are really nice. They have the feel of Flats but the sound of Warm, Clear Rounds. They also look really good on my Ibanez Premium BTB1605. Does anyone with experience with these strings know how long they keep the out of the pack tone? I'm really liking these so far.

Jury is still out for me. I think I like them, but they're not sustaining quite as much as I would like on my fretless. I like the overall tone, but I think I'm going to check out the new Sadowsky Blue Label flats or go back to EB cobalt flats, which punch and sustain for days.

EB Cobalt Flats are my go to string and I still like them better than any string out but these are really nice sounding and feeling strings. Can't wait to see how they do in a live band setting at louder volumes.

LaBella is definitely onto something with their white nylon series strings IMO.

+1 I love the tone and feel the copper version - particularly on one fretless. Converted me as I didn't care for the black tapewounds in the past and these are my current favorite strings.

Converted me too. Prior to these, I couldn't really say I liked any nylon set. And I tried several different brands They were all too lifeless sounding for my tastes. These white nylons, however, are a completely different story. I like them so much that they may eventually replace flats on some of my other basses.

What can I say? They're really nice strings. Especially the copper set. :thumbsup:

Which gauges did you choose?

Yes, they are wrapped in a clear nylon tape; which covers the strings entirely (though usual silk wraps on the ends). Similar to the black nylon wrapped strings which have been around since at least the 1960s but these are much brighter by comparison to those.

On BSO, I've found only light and standard gauges LaBella Gold White. Either one, the reason for me asking, cause the nylon wound thicken the strings, resulting the nut needs to be filed. Did you file the nut?

The Labella Gold White tapewounds are as smooth as glass. I played them last night again and walked out in front of the stage with my wireless and the tone was unbelievable. These strings are great.

My friend you need to try the Labella copper white tapewounds. I tried almost all tapes and the coppers are the best, they are way better than the golds - deeper and warmer, try them out.
