Lakland 55-94 Deluxe truss rod question

I have a question about my lakland truss rod, is it and original one or is it a replacement, serial number 5856, probably a 2000's lakland with barts

I don't know what particular style of truss rod nut lakland uses during that era, cylinder? Cross nut?

They have always used a hex bolt truss rod nut. That looks to be what is there.

Thanks for the info, i've only ever owned the skyline sk5dx, that one comes with spoke wheel truss rod nut.

Ackshually, they did have the "vintage style" flathead screwdriver ones on the earlier basses- my '99 had it (got it swapped out), and I've seen earlier ones with it as well. Not sure when the switch happened, but glad it did.

So mine is a '99, probably the previous owner swapped it right?

I had a pre-2000 USA model and it had the hex bolt adjuster so I am not sure when that change would have happened if they used an older style. They starting in 94 so it could be anywhere in there. I think the USA model I had was a 98 or 99.

My 97. So definitely they changed it during the years.

Something I never knew. I wonder when that happened. Since someone had a 99 with the slotted style and I had a 99 that was a hex version either 99 was the switchover or mine had been replaced by someone as well. Interesting

Both my 55-94s from '98 and '99 have the slotted style. I think the SN on my '99 dates to mid year sometime.
