Lakland Geezer Butler

I found a great deal on a used Lakland GZ. I couldn't resist especially since a return was easy. Solid PJ black model. First impressions, high quality model, smooth and buttery neck, frets glide under the fingers. The tone was a little sharp/ bright for me but very easy to dial down with the pups independent volume and third tone control alone. With LMIII filters and all eq at noon, I was right where I wanted to be. However when the tone was deep and warm/ round, I craved more definition. More definition was too scratchy. Then I put on DR Pure Blues 45-105 and oh my the perfect 60's everything bass cuz the music was everything then. The ebony neck does not feel like the usual jazz neck PJ. And if the action was any lower, my strings would not ring. I am loving this bass. I see myself playing anything but metal, but I got inspired to write a punk song tonight. In addition to blues, afrobeat and modern psychedelic something.

KILLER Basses but just too heavy for me. I haven't seen one that isn't around 10-11 lbs!
I've seen a few under 9lbs, but don't need another precision styled instrument. But some are up to or over 11lbs! Yikes.
They sure look nice though.
By the way congrats to @Brother V on the bass! May I ask what the weight is on your GZ model?
