What string gauges are you using? I must say that when I was using light-gauge strings on my 44-02 (I prefer lights on some basses, depending on the feel of the neck, etc.), and while I loved it, I felt it was lacking in feel for me. The frets are dead level but I had a random buzz here and there depending on my neck relief settings. The tone was there, but not the feel I was accustomed to. So, I put on some medium-gauge strings and it solved everything. No buzzes, no extraneous noise or feel issues ANYWHERE on the neck. String gauges can make basses/necks choke or come to life... this one loves mediums, and it made it a more comfy bass to play. I love it even more now!
What's up guys? We're usually on page 10 by now. Oh well, easier to keep up this way.

Also, dunno if this has been tackled before, but what kind of effects do yall usually run your Lakland through, if any?
No one bash me for this, but would it be worth it to get a preowned 44-01 (Invalid Link Removed) and upgraded the pickups and preamp because if so, it would cost me more than a BG or DJ because of price and installation.

Nice edging on the lawn, nice chair, cool plants....
Oh, yeah - the bass is NICE too.
