Did my bottom feeding/deal searching and now have a 55-02.
Used a discount coupon with a major web retailer on a used one to 1st get an Indonesian model that had been plek'd, but it had a hairline crack in the neck. Sent it back and now have a lighter korean version made in 08 but it's in better shape appearance wise. No Plek card attached and curiously sharp fret ends when grasping the neck to pick it up.
I understand fret ends can protrude regardless of set up method if humidity changes. Does the Plek really improve the bass enough to send it to Lakland and pay shipping plus 125.00 or whatever or should I just let my local very competent luthier have a go at it? A fellow TB member recently told me a Lakland employee told him Plek can't compare with skilled human. I also fear shipping company brutality

Are The plek'd Indo's better than non-p Korean
