Hey guys.
just wanted to thank you for all the input on my DJ5.
Ive just ordered a Nordstrand NP5 for it, hopfully this will get me closer to my P5 but even if it doesnt im sur eill be a bit happier as ill at least have a 5 string P with a very wonderful neck.
Just a shame i have to get a brand new bass cut up.

Once i get the NP5 in ill sort out the black PG.

Just ran across these photos from my wife and my trip to Chicago last fall. She let me drag her down to the Lakland shop and she even had a good time talking with Brian while I had an even better time rocking this LPB US Decade and a couple of DJ's. The trip, the people and the basses sold me on Lakland for life. Thought you guys might be interested though they aren't great pictures

And a sick B string...

I've come to the conclusion that the best you get out of 34" is a "good" and on occasion a great B string.

The Lakland B is beyond "great".
I play my B's all the way to the 22 fret.
Size does matter...;)

I'm thinking about doing the same thing to a JO5.
There's more than one way to skin a cat around here...

Dude, that's gonna be sweet!!!

Did my bottom feeding/deal searching and now have a 55-02.
Used a discount coupon with a major web retailer on a used one to 1st get an Indonesian model that had been plek'd, but it had a hairline crack in the neck. Sent it back and now have a lighter korean version made in 08 but it's in better shape appearance wise. No Plek card attached and curiously sharp fret ends when grasping the neck to pick it up.
I understand fret ends can protrude regardless of set up method if humidity changes. Does the Plek really improve the bass enough to send it to Lakland and pay shipping plus 125.00 or whatever or should I just let my local very competent luthier have a go at it? A fellow TB member recently told me a Lakland employee told him Plek can't compare with skilled human. I also fear shipping company brutality:smug: Are The plek'd Indo's better than non-p Korean
