I would have gone for a JO5 but the block inlays and binding looked too good to pass up. It reminds me of my Duck dunn.

The body size/shape doesnt really bother me, in fact the smaller size seems to hang a bit better on me.
Im quite surprised at how light it is. I had read these things could be very heavy but mine feels lighter than my P5. It might just be my imagination and i will get around to weighing it soon.

As far as Lakland doing any work, lets remeber im in London, UK. Its not really an option to send it to the USA.
Ive contacted the shop where i got it frorm and they are happy to do the work. I just have to find the right pup (and the money ;-)

Thanks for the sugestion.
Ive just checked out the cost and its not cheap BUT it is a soloution and ill be looking in to this once i put my Elixirs on and have giged them.
I'll be looking at around £200 including the work. Im willing to pay it but I really will need to be sure it the right thing to do.

Does any one have any suggestions as to where i might order one from the USA to be delivered to the UK. Might be a bit cheaper.

Saying that, if its something i can do myself i might give it a try. I dont suppose you have any wiring diagrams do you? I'll not bother with the switch, just wire them together and see how it goes. Like you i doubt i would need the typical jazz tone.

It'd be quicker and easier to go to the electronics threads and ask for a wiring diagram, or search for one. It'd take me a while to find one if I even still have one. I think Dimarzio sent one w/ my long gone Model Js that I put in a non-Lakie that I sold. It's a very simple solder job IIRC.

Wire two pots up like this, but add in the pickups as so,

white lead from one to the hot lug, and the black lead from that to the white lead of the other, then wire the last black lead to the case of the pot.

Think of each half of the P pickup in the diagram as a full J pickup.
