Like Jedi, its my preferred way to have a Jazz, but I install the push/pull to go back to standard, in case I need it.

Im ok doing the soldering, i just dont want to end up putting the wires in the wrong place and have a non working bass :-(

Im not really a lover of the Jazz tone but i do find the DJ5 sounds a bit softer, tone wise, than my Fender HW1.

Im not going to do anything until the new strings go on though.

Long as you go hot-cold-hot-cold, you'll be fine, and the worst that can happen is you'll wire it out of phase.

But like you said, see what the new strings do for you first.

Yeah, the strings will make a difference, just not sure how much.
Im pretty keen on putting a P in though now. Im not even bothered if the bridge pup will wired in or not but i guess i should give it a try.
