I think he is into it......convince him....might be fun!

we can call it "Buffords Bass Boutique and Spice Rack"...I like the title....

Yeah, I've been hanging out to finish these exams for too long now, but time is flying by at the moment. I think it's cause I'm busy with study (Talkbass Studies is my best subject, lol)

save up or bring the credit card...you will NOT go home empty handed.....trust me.....if you don't have cash - hope they do layaway!!!

Unless they do some radical special, (like $100/Lakland) then I have a feeling I will. However, my plan is to have my new bass by the end of January, (factoring in Christmas and birthday money and what I save from work). I've been wanting a 5er for ages now so these Lakies had better be everything the internet has made them out to be.

having trouble selling the BG4PJ.....3 REALLY interested parties in teh last week but all bowed out for some reason....neck width, PJ "sound" etc...argh!!!

negative - need the money to fund BG5PJ
positive - 7 Lakies in 'da house (at least temporariliy!)

Major Negative - NOT SURE when I can go to pick it up!!!! hopefully by the beginning of next week I can find the time!!!

would have them ship it but I have my 55-02 in for a set up and my fretless in for an "inactive" treble tone control...

well.....lay away allows you to pay over time...reserve it and pay for it later...am I bad or what!!?????

sorry - as a father I should be saying "save your money young man....a $400 AUD is just as good as a $3000AUD bass"....

NOT!!!!:scowl:

It is interesting you say that....I have been playing 5's and 6's for a long time, and have had many boutique, custom made basses. The laklands have the best B in the business...yet it is the lakland 4's that have made me all put down 5's. I will always have a 5er in the set (55-02 currently) and it get's used a lot for the Worship stuff I play, but I find myself gravitating more and more to my Glaub and hopefully my HB on the way. I will eventually but another JO, but in a 4 this time.

but YOU can....and maybe a few others...Live I hear MUCH more difference than in recordings.....(typically)....

well yes, YOU can.
and, what I love about Lakland, you don't have to have "live" or "studio" basses. And you know there are nuances...
Secondly, different pups on the same bass make helluva difference - that's no nuances. Been there, heard that
Even changing coil tap switch makes difference in a live show, I do use it during songs

Yeah, I love rockin' out a 4 as well but I really need(want?) these lower notes. I'm sure I will own a Lakland 4 in the future, but at the moment, it's a 5er that will be my next bass.
Thanks for the insight though.
