LAKLAND OWNERS GROUP #41

we have no fear....I assume you will not be decisive enough to buy one of those either....:D

As I come late to the party, I see Markus' new avatar! Verrry nice!!

I think I've gone to they dark side, though, as I've been having major GAS over the DiPinto Belvedere :{

I really want a hollowbody, but the Lakland is out of my price range.

There is always the opportunity to install Chi Sonics into the Belvedere, though.

I'm still greatly obsessed with Laklands, but the DiPinto has given me GAS for weeks :hiding:

Aaron:

welcome back!!!

congrats on the promotion and the world travel! I know what you mean....I cannot keep up without a computer myself!!

If you have not been keeping up, the LOG CD is almost done (and we are missing one "little" detail....hint hint!):D

:ninja::ninja:

LOL...hey guys....I am back home for the weekend. Lots of travel.....I am out about the next 8 weeks, but it is all domestic so I will be able to be back on here regularly...it is not comfortable or easy to keep up with the LOG threads from a blackberry either, s I didn't...lol....and JJ was right, I am loving my 55's and as you can imagine I am NOT gas free by any means...I would still like to get a Chi'd 55.....and one I am looking for now is a 55-01D to hot rod. I know they are not common, but I will find one. Anyway....life is busy but good and it is good to be home.

We gotta get together so you can play this!!! You'll never want any other kind of P bass again!

COOL!

unique view.....love the sound of the 44-02!!!

nice pickin' on the b'jo as well.....

Hey fellow Laklanders. So last week on a different gig I took my camera to have someone offstage take photos of the band, but that unfortunately never happened. I did get the inkling however to place the camera in video mode on my music stand and roll tape. Thus, 'Basscam' was born. Anyway, we had a great gig last night with one of my groups (warning, banjo content) and I happened to be playing my 44-02 Deluxe. Thought I'd share the results! For those tech nerds, my amp is an Eden Nemesis NA320 with a Tech 21 VT Bass up front. I didn't plan it, but the two tunes I recorded were ones where I have short solos/features. Gotta decide fast whether or not to push that button when things get rolling! haha!

I agree 1000000%!

I have suggested it to Dan at least twice.....sometimes it takes a few times before he makes a decision (i.e. first round of Amber 55-02's; Non-AC; teal LE basses, Sky BG5, etc.....all took several "suggestions")

maybe if he starts getting e-mails with SERIOUS interest he will make it happen.....he needs to see the demand before he makes a move (every smart business person needs to see a demand!)

They should offer that design as a USA model

Jess:

glad to hear about the new album!!! I cannot wait to hear it!!!

I know where you can get a REAL convicing P5 sound...:hiding:

So, I've finished recording the first disc with my main band and we've got a prelim mix down. We're all listening to it on our own stereod and taking mix notes so's we're not spending a bunch of billable hours doing it. Should mi mastered by the end of March or sometime in April.

I'm pretty impressed with the array of tones I got out of Amber. I had planned to use more than one bass throughout the process, but I only ended up using my A5 on one song.

There *was* one song I that made me wish I had a P-bass, though. I couldn't get Amber to do a really convincing P tone. I guess that makes sense, but you know...

I knew you were going to say that! I bought a lotto ticket this week because that's the only way a new bass is going to happen this year... unless I can find an extra grand and something second-hand at some point...

Any other year, the upcoming week's worth of St-Pat's gigs would put me in bass buying land, but this year we've got that CD to pay for...

You guys post so much, so fast, I've dropped out of this one for a bit.
But, I've heard rumors that Lakland are developing a short scale bass with DarkStar power?

I figured you guys would know; what's the skinny on that?

Hey Chef! I figured you guys would know; what's the skinny on that?

I haven't heard that. I think it would be pretty strange since they have ChiSonics, and Darkstars are hard to come by.

Hey, guys. Haven't been around the LOG much lately. Anything new developing on a DJ potential replacement to the DJ? I see they've added blocks and bindings for the JO models, but I'm interested in a slender jazz body shape.

On another note, do you guys ever sleep? :D

No real word on the DJ right now. I've heard it's been drawn up, but I haven't seen anything yet.
