yeh- I forgot...Cetera left a while before that...knew I waas wrong but decided to leave the post anyways...

ahve not seen Jason live...only on video....talent galore!

Chicago has alot of talent and energy for a bunch of well preserved seasoned citizens!

Yeah, it was Jason. I could be wrong about the time, maybe it was 11 yrs ago.

Nice TIM!!!

feel free to post more pics anyime (PLEASE???)

where/when did you get the BG?

AMp'D.2play:

a Skyline is NEVER a "settle for".....one thing with Lakies (IMHO) is that the "more cost effective" line of the 2 lines is MUCH closer in quality and playability and sound than in ANY other line I have seen!

I still have 2 Skylines and they get alot of play!!

As hinted at 2 months ago, and (finally) paid off in full & picked up yesterday. My new Skyline 44-02 Deluxe in Natural Translucent! Not flashy, but I love it ... and find I'm having a hard time putting it down. :hyper:

I must've tried out 15-20 basses, and even though I liked a few, I couldn't bring myself to plunk down a deposit. Once the shop owner brought out this 44-02 and I played it for a while, my search was over. Budget couldn't swing a US-made 4-94, so I had to "settle" for this Crafted in Korea Skyline instead. :hiding:

See Jes...Amber is "part" of you....

Is it going to see stage time? I just bought my first P specifically because I wish I'd had one on two songs of the CD I just recorded. I brought it out to a gig, and people were kinda weirded out by the sight. I've sort of made the Amer 55-02 part of my... I dunno, 'stage persona,' I guess.

...and sincere it was....I did not think I was "that" tough on you.....he he!!! as I said (and you obviously did not get a chance to read)...all is good!!!

conversation is a good thing....

not sure on more customization.....will have to wait and see...

Damn, and after I spent all that time typing a sincere reply to doug/basspraiser, the press release thread...

Well then, I wonder how much more customizable US lakies will be, now that the constraints of a single man's "signature preferences" are out the window. I'd love to have some medium-jumbo frets on an active, heavy-ash slapper bass. :bassist:

More variability in the 55-02 and a more versatile pre-amp....I have been impressed with the 55-01s I played but like the variability an -02 allows....

Let's say I was in the market for a new bass from Lakland since the LOG bass won't be out for a while.

What are the main differences between the 55-01 and the 55-02? General thoughts would be appreciated - sound, brightness, etc.

Thanks!

Cool! The upper horn brings other sleek shapes to mind. What exactly - Spector-y? Jag-like? Hanson-styled? Can't make it out yet.
Only it seems the cutout under the upper horn asks to be a bit deeper because the horn looks somewhat short

P.S. Intonation problems, eh? That's always the trouble with Photoshop :D

P.P.S. just read the comments. Randy, John, jcorbeil (sorry I don't knw yor name [just yet]), I'm with you

Denis;

I WAS a "bender" still getting used to the sliding thaing!

get it epoxied by a WELL trusted Luthier and you will love it...make sure you play the guy's work thoguh first...a bad epoxy job can kill a neck...

well I read your warning about not bending first (when the work on your bass was in progress), and then when Nessie arrived I watched Steve Bailey's video course.
BTW, it did give me some 'idears', but Steve isn't really a guy I wood choose for a teacher - he's just too good, just over the edge! :D

can kill a neck! I can't do that! Nessie's neck is easily the best I ever played, fretted or fretless

Alright boys and girls, help a brother out.
Got this DJ5 last week. Then today I get a big old envelope from our guy Terry ( no good scents coming off this one) with two sweet pickguards.
Help me choose.....

I REALLY didn't think this one would work....but it totally does.
Plus the wife likes it (always a good thing), (shes still mad I sold my 55-02 Cherry Sunburst Deluxe....It was "pretty"..She was right....it was)
